Biola and Los Angeles

After San Diego I went up to Biola University, the college Chelsea goes to. I got to meet a lot of her friends and really enjoyed my time there. :) The campus was also a whoooole lot nicer than mine back home so I just enjoyed walking around and looking at all the pretty fountains and palm trees!

I also attended a rehearsal for a play Chel is in. I love love theater so it was really awesome watching them rehearse. Great job guys, I wish I could see the final product!

Chelsea is an art student and had a photography assignment she needed to plan. This involved scouting out a location so one evening we visited a very "Urban Outfitters" house and had fun photo-ing each other.

These are some she took me of. All the credit for these goes to Chels!

Hahaha my favorite. Whhhy am I such a dork?

Afterwards she took me to Berry Cool! Yummm.

Finally, I had brunch with the lovely Laura Gallo before leaving CA. We also did a little vintage shopping. She is like my new best friend. Laura, I love you so much!!

Aaaand this is me saying bye and I'll be back soon to post Arizona!

1 week

So, I have officially completed one whole week at college. And...I've loved it. God has given me great professors and interesting yet challenging classes. But what would a good week be without it's bizarre and embarrassing moments? I'll begin with the water fountain story...basically this little innocent water fountain pictured below decided to shoot STRAIGHT up and choke me while I hovered over it and send me gagging and tearing up all the way down the hall looking for my class room. Nooot, the coolest first impression on my fellow classmates but definitely one for the memory books :)

Another grand moment happened when I discovered the Germantown Spanish lab. I really wish I could video tape some of the hilarious stuff I watched over this past week but this photo will have to suffice. Basically, I've watched about an hour and a half of old BBC spanish documentaries and Remember The Picture Spanish games on the computer. Only 8 and a half hours to go?

Also this week, Natalie and I...

...found these posters (pictured below) "practically everywhere." An interesting choice of inspirational poster topic, but apparently it's pretty popular!

At my first "during the school year" CG we went shopping at Wal-mart for Becky Malament who's at Cabrini college. We gathered together a care package to send her and Bryce showed some of his brilliant artistic skills drawing her a card with the caregroup in stick-figure. (Neal made the sky sunny and happy, and I filled in the rest...including Kristen who was currently flying home from Chicago in an airplane.)

My first weekend as a college student the lovely SYLVIE came into town from Richmond and we made good use of our weekend by attending the Singles Mtg, staying up to 2:30am eating Wendy's at my house, brunching at Lauren's the next day, photoshooting at Nike, exploring the Shenk's backyard, fighting over cattails, and jumping ourselves silly on the Hoover's trampoline...and playing Loaded Questions, eating Vanilla Wafers, making fun of Bryce's Facebook, and passing the point and shoot camera around for some fun pictures:

And then today, my friends Tuffer and Nick got baptized!! What a joy it was to watch them declare their faith in Jesus Christ in front of hundreds of people. I respect you guys so much - thank you for following after God with all of your hearts.

I shall conclude this post with the "|dya&$tacey4evah" show. (That's in Stacey speak of course...hehe) Stacey came over for about an hour on Friday and it was lovely. Stop by soon, Meeky?

a little video chat fun

ps: Oh, and as you can tell the layout has been mixed around. This one's very temporary - I'm working on a better one for the Fall. (happy autumn sighs)
